Weekend Update

Yesterday was the soccer game, which was a lot of fun, and to make it even more fun it was a million degrees at the field…

Chris filled in for Elvis who is at boarding school, he was really excited to get to wear the uniform...

The house boys won 2-0…I thought it was only 1-0 but they corrected me today…Goals were scored by Jonah and Joseph respectively…

Whats a Kenyan soccer game without cows...

How much do I love this face?

Here's a fun picture of Chris getting kicked...

Martin...

Braum and Edwin at half-time...Edwin taking cues from the cows he earlier had to chase off the field

Smiley Paul...

Look at Johnstones legs...how is that humanly possible?

Evans hung with me on the sidelines...we were both photographers that day...

And today some of the boys from House 3 stopped by after church to hang out for a bit…Im super tired if you couldn’t tell so Ill leave it up to the pictures…

House 3, all that is missing is Wiki...

The boys walked me all the way home from church so I wouldn't have to take a motor boda or walk alone...But now that I think of it, I was told by Moses today that I looked good and fat. Which hasnt been the first time I've heard that in the last 2 weeks, so perhaps a long walk was good for my fat a...

This is our backyard...jealous?

Joseph playing soccer..

Ovi...

The shameless group self-portrait...

Al & Isaiah

This is the wrath you will face if you break into our house...and Chris could actually wake-up...

Isaiah decided he wanted to wear Al's boots...not too bad of a fit...and I like the polka dots...

Ovi..

Everyone calls him "Babu" which means grandpa in Swahili and hes not a fan, no wonder he looks so sad, you should call him John...

A close up of "Babu"

Joseph, managed to find all this fun stuff in Chris' room

We're going to these boy's house for dinner on Friday so it should be a lot of fun..It was really a great time today and we were glad they came over esp. since they didnt get to go to the soccer game yesterday...

One fun story that has no picture to accompany it, but is equally worth the time is, Today in church we were asked to greet people around us. So we did and the man that Alice talked to was very nice. He even invited us to his wedding that will be in Dec. He told Alice that "they had mated and had 3 children" and wanted to make it "official"...awesome...
Tomorrow begins another busy but fun week...time is seriously flying by...crazy...

Hey girl...

Great update...lots of information and wonderful photos, as always.

So glad to see both Jonah and Bramwel back in action after last week's illnesses. The drugs in Kenya would never be approved by the FDA here....it is hard to imagine that only 3 days after being diagnosed with Typhoid and Malaria respectively...that the two of them could even be out of bed...let alone playing soccer and scoring goals (yay, Jonah!)

That photo of Mr. Mawe (Johnstone) is crazy! That kid has rubber for bones...seen him dance? By the way... next time you see him...tell him that I got a new computer and that I used his real last name as my password! Makes me smile everytime I type it in!

As far as the Babu name for John....we have been calling him that for years. It doesn't fit so much any more...but 4 years ago..when he was REALLY small..and had the serious face and demeanor of a 70 year old man...well, Babu was a perfect name. Come to think of it...it actually still is!

And one last thing .... YOU ARE NOT ONE BIT FAT!!!! I know it is no consolation...but, Moses meant that as a complement!

Love you bunches....
Lydia
