Let me say that NONE of whats going on makes me feel unsafe. It just seems that in most of Africa's history there have been so many great tragedies that have never even made it to us in the U.S. until it was too late to do anything about it or we've heard just enough to know somethings going on but our government doesn't think it's necessary to act, like the genocide in Rwanda and Darfur, starvation in Ethiopia, or pirates hijacking ships off the coast of Somalia...

Congolese government troops and UN peacekeepers engage in fierce fighting with rebel forces in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, sending more refugees fleeing
Drought in the Horn of Africa is deepening after the failure of annual rains, and the UN estimates that more than 14.5 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance.

Bummer you have Malaria. I guess that means you are "offical" now huh? I hope you feel better soon. I am not jealous of the shots in anyway. I agree with your post on unrest in Africa. I would have to say that we probably hear 1% of it here in the US and that is only if you look for it. It is really sad and scary what is going on with the rest of the world and we have no idea. Hope you feel better soon. Just make yourself rest!
Yeah, word to what Liz said. I think it's making even less of the news because of what's going on here (election tomorrow). I mean, I see stuff on the net about it, but it basically receives NO time on the news, which is really sad. With that said, I am hoping that the awareness picks up and I feel like it will. Maybe it's just me thinking with my heart, but I think it will. :)
